okay let's do a thing. I want to get started on February and one of these is about due so, ONWARDS:

Me: I feel like I've been really slow and behind lately and I have to keep reminding myself that I'm actually not. I am, for the most part, on top of things, and I'm keen to get a start on Feb threads! I'm in a really good place otherwise, I've got a semi promotion at work which is keeping my days way more interesting and enjoyable and I have so many good things coming up this year, it's exciting! I made the decision a while ago that I feel more relaxed about RP and my tags are better if I don't obsessively try and clear them every night so if they take a couple of days these days that's why, but I think I'm better for it and I try not to let them get too old.

Nathan Drake:

Next month Nate will have been in Darrow for two whole years that is ridiculous to me omfg where did the time go??? He is, as usual, always easy to write and I love him dearly but I'd love to get him out and threading with some new people because he tends to fall into the same circle every month. At the moment his main plot is that he's stealing a not-so-magic compass with Chloe and Coop which is all about to go horribly, horribly wrong and he will maybe be forced to admit he has certain feelings about a certain somebody. Spoiler: it's Coop.

Other than that he's just trucking along like normal, really. I've been saying it for a hundred years but I might actually kill off old Errol the shopkeeper this month and have Nate take over the antiques shop so that he can turn it into a shady thieves trade?

Raven Reyes

Raven is pretty quiet at the moment but I'm hoping to change that very soon. For now, Elias told her he's in love with her and she's trying really hard to say it back but she's also fairly terrible at opening up to people, so there's that. They're both kind of a mess but I love them. Her bffery with Lincoln is one of my favourite things and with his encouragement she will sort herself out, I'm sure.

Another thing I've been saying I wanted to do forever is to give her A.L.I.E. as an item post, which I might do very soon, canonmates and mods permitting. For those who don't watch The 100: ALIE is basically an A.I. who was designed to make life better for mankind but who did so by deciding to launch a nuclear strike that killed everybody THANKS ALIE THAT'S DEFINITELY BETTER. In canon, there are "chips" that a person can take that contain the AI and let ALIE into their brains, where she then has the ability to block pain/painful memories, but inevitably also blocks out any memories associated with that pain.

ie. ALIE stops Raven feeling the pain of Finn's death, but also causes her to forget him completely. She can also make it so there's no pain in her leg, but she can't fix it. In Darrow my plan is that the pain in Raven's leg that she's been steadfastly ignoring will get so bad that she'll be convinced to swallow a chip by some shady dealer, and while she'll be therefore pain-free, she'll be... off. It's almost like possession but more robotic. SO THAT WILL BE FUN.

If anyone was interested, there's the possibility of MORE chips being around and this to go city-wide. In canon ALIE basically possesses like half the show before Clarke shuts her the fuck down, so.

James Potter:

Also a little quiet lately, definitely needs to get out more. James has mostly been focused on the weird little family that's going on at the Nook, but I'd love for him to make some new friends. He's such an outgoing pup idk why I have so much trouble getting him out there? I always feel like people don't wanna tag him D:

He's got a few things in the works, though. He's refining the safety charms on his collection of broomsticks but then he's going to be volunteering at Green Gardens and giving all the kids flying lessons, so all you lot who are still slumming it in the Children's Home should move house, just sayin. There's also the possibility of Harry returning to Darrow which will throw him for six but be all kinds of delightful :3

Ed Warren

Ed's about to have a relatively big month. His paintings are coming back to literally haunt him, and his and Marcus's studio is going all topsy turvy. I'm planning on having him bring Valak back into the picture because why NOT repaint that one Ed, you idiot. The rest are going to be generic monsters and demons but I'm excited for him to get to have something to do. If anyone wants threads while this shenanigans is going down I'm absolutely game.

I might also try and get him involved in The Exorcism of Betty Cooper because more exorcisms that he's not supposed to be doing but keeps doing >:D

He ALSO needs more friends besides Marcus because even though I love the two of them dearly, he needs to get out more. Please let me know if you want him anywhere. Also someone app Lorraine I will scream this from rooftops until the end of my days if I have to.

Aragorn

With Aragorn I desperately need to find something for him to DO. I love him so much but I don't think I properly thought out how he was going to settle in Darrow. I always knew it would be hard but it's turning out very hard. He's so not cut out for the quiet life and he's so out of time and place and so Aragorn that it's apparently hard for him to make proper friends. PLEASE TAG HIM.

I wanted to move him out to the countryside soon but I'm mildly concerned that doing that will just take him further away from where the action is. Not that I can't just tag him wherever anyway, but I don't want to make it harder for him to interact with people. I'm in a dilemma. I have no intention of dropping him any time soon but I do need to work out what to do with him, I'm open to suggestions.

Enjolras

Ugh look at that face. Anyway. ENJOLRAS ARRIVED. He is still very, very new but I'm really excited about it. He is something entirely different from the rest of my roster but so far I'm really enjoying writing him. I have to warn myself that he's not going to make friends easily or quickly but I do have a few hopes for him and I think he'll be okay. He is navigating his odd new borderline respect for Grantaire and he and Gleb are gonna be confused socialist foreigners together, it'll be great.

He's still deciding how to take Darrow; there are things he likes and lots of things he doesn't, but he's working it all out. I'm really pleased that so many people tagged him even though I posted him so close to the end of the month so thank you! :D His tags mean I get to play around with French a little more too while I learn so if this bugs anyone please let me know and I'll keep to italics ;) Also if I fuck anything up blame me, not Enj.

He doesn't have anything plot wise yet because he's so new but if anybody wants to do anything with him, private threads or tag ins or otherwise, please let me know, I want to get him out and about.

FUTURE

God help me. I need to stop apping because once I go past six I tend to start struggling but if I ever feel on more stable ground, there are a few battering around in my head:

Jaime Lannister is still up the top of the queue for now, though with the HUGE FUCKING GAPS between seasons of Game of Thrones my excitement always goes a little dormant until it's back on air. I love him a lot though and I think he'd be fun to play in that he's kind of an asshole and I don't really have one of those. I almost want to wait and see what next seasons brings re: his continuing journey towards being A Decent Human Being but that's so long away I might do something before then, we'll see.

My binge watching of Evita lately has also made me start considering Che and he'll probably start popping up in TD soon but it's weird to get my head around a character who intentionally doesn't have his own background or is very well rounded? I'm always going to prefer the everyman take on Che but that makes him difficult to play because he represents an entire people almost?? And his only personality is like... sassy and bitter, we never get to see how he reacts towards anyone who isn't Eva, so idk. I feel like I'd be taking too many personal liberties if I took playing him seriously but we'll see how we go.

Also, just quietly, my head keeps wanting to bring back Matthew because I miss my bb but I have to keep reminding myself I dropped him for a reason. But then I think I could canon re-read and try and do him properly this time around but I'm worried I'd just fall back into the same traps. I find it really hard to play from a canon nobody knows because there seems to be less interest and it means no one can gauge how real he sounds so I end up feeling really ooc and generic, idk. MAYBE. I might bring him back for some TDs, too~

You know I'm always here for Raven stuff however you might need it. That ALIE stuff sounds fascinating and fun so I say doooooooooo it. Elias is gonna get his item this month (in an EP that's either posted today or soon) but it'll be much less dramatic than last time.

Dutch is always available to chat with Ed too. She likes his particular brand of strangeness since she's never known stuff like he deals with.

Uh, Rhys is around to stare at Aragorn? I think he's gonna end up with some crush on the man for looking as good as he does when he's as old as he is. SECRET CRUSH.
